Tip to the consumer

Do not blindly assume that photos on a site are also created by the artist himself. We often see photos on the sites by other painters or created during workshops by the instructor. Try to find by mouth to mouth advertising, photos of own work on facebook or competition results on the site are also often easy to verify. In Belgium is the children's facepainting no free profession anymore and you must have a recognised training followed with diploma. This gives some certainty, but of course artistic talent not can be taught. In the Netherlands facepainting is a free profession, everybody can teach a facepaintcourse and a followed course is absolutely not always a guarantee of a professional make-up artist.

In England there is FACE which can give you an overview of tested painters

besides a certain talent, good training (also theoretical!) a good facepainter has a certain speed and you can expect at least 10-15 children per hour extended painted. Simple actions such as speed, for every child a clean sponge, use clean make-up boxes, clean and clear materials and works without examples and can carry out any wish are a few of of those things by which you can identify a trained professional.
